The Blue Dragon is a pure physical threat. With 200 Magic Defense, offensive spells are ineffective. Its high Evasion (96) also means many physical attacks will miss without accuracy boosts. Victory depends on buffing your fighters and mitigating its immense damage.

Battle Strategy

The fight is a race against time. Your Black Wizard must cast Haste on your strongest physical attackers (Knight, Master, Ninja) immediately. Your White Wizard or Red Wizard must cast defensive buffs like Protera and Invisira to survive the dragon’s attacks. Physical attackers should use items like the Giant’s Gloves to cast Saber on themselves for a crucial damage boost.

Defense is mandatory. Without Protera and Invisira, the Blue Dragon can eliminate party members in one or two hits. Keep the party’s HP high and focus all efforts on buffing your physical damage dealers to overcome its high Evasion and end the fight as quickly as possible.

After the Battle

Defeating the Blue Dragon grants access to the teleporter it was guarding. Use the Warp Cube (obtained from the Robot in the Waterfall Cavern) to activate the device, which will transport the Warriors of Light directly to the Flying Fortress, home of the Wind Fiend, Tiamat.
